Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 July 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how the Best iGaming Experts Annual Awards ("we", "us", the "Awards") collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you nominate someone, apply, contact us or simply browse this website.
1. Who we are
The Best iGaming Experts Annual Awards is an independent, informational awards programme recognising expertise in the iGaming industry. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What data we collect
We only collect data you choose to give us, plus limited technical data:
- Nomination and application data — the name, contact email and supporting information (links, files, biographies) you submit by email when applying or nominating a candidate.
- Contact and enquiry data — your name, email address and message when you contact us for press, partnership or general enquiries.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device and pages viewed, collected automatically to keep the site secure and measure basic traffic.
3. Why we process your data (legal bases)
We process personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR: consent (when you email a nomination, application or enquiry), legitimate interests (running the awards, evaluating entries, replying to you, and keeping the site secure), and legal obligation where applicable.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to evaluate nominations and applications, communicate with finalists and jury members, respond to enquiries, publish results and finalist profiles where you have entered, and operate and secure this website. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.
5. Publication of finalist and winner information
If you are nominated or apply and reach the shortlist, limited professional information (name, professional description, publicly relevant links and a photograph you provide) may be published on this site as part of the awards. If you do not wish to be listed, contact us and we will remove your profile.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the jury for evaluation purposes and with service providers (hosting, email, content delivery) who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose data if required by law.
7. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only essential cookies required for security and delivery via our content-delivery network. We do not run advertising trackers. Any analytics used are limited to aggregated, non-identifying traffic measurement.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country, including outside the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Data retention
We keep nomination, application and enquiry data only as long as necessary for the relevant awards cycle and reasonable follow-up, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Published finalist and winner information may remain online as a permanent record of the awards.
10. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Your rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected]. See also our Terms of Use.
